We collaborate with illustrators from around the world to bring art into everyday life and give creativity a canvas beyond the gallery. This time, we invited Laura Deleuze to transform the Hajo Mini Backpack. Laura Deleuze is a French illustrator and graphic designer based in Toulouse. Her work is colourful, playful and full of character, combining simple shapes with expressive details and a pop sensibility. Across editorial, cultural and brand projects, she creates vibrant visual worlds that feel spontaneous while remaining instantly recognisable.
For the Hajo Mini Backpack, Laura used vivid POSCA pens to turn the bag into a one-of-a-kind canvas, bringing her joyful style into an object made for everyday movement. We spoke with Laura about the inspiration behind her work, her creative process and the role art plays in her life.

When did your passion for art begin, and what inspires you today?
There wasn’t one particular moment when I discovered art. Drawing has always been part of my life and, ever since I was a child, it has felt like a space where I can be completely at home. Today, inspiration can come from almost anywhere: my surroundings, my friends, nature, music or simply an emotion.
How would you describe your artistic style?
Pop, joyful and very colourful. I like working with simple shapes and adding movement to make an image feel lively and immediately catch the eye. Lately, I’ve also been experimenting more with texture, especially through coloured pencils and oil pastels.

How did you bring your idea to life on the Hajo Backpack?
I chose POSCA pens because I love the intensity of their colours and the quality of the ink. They allowed me to work directly on the backpack while keeping the colours bright, bold and true to my style.
What place does art have in your everyday life?
Art is woven into almost every part of my life. It might be a film, an illustration, a photograph or a piece of music. Each form gives me something different, but they all feed my imagination and influence how I see the world.
