Matchasome x Ucon Acrobatics: A Berlin-Born Collaboration

Berlin has a particular way of turning a quick morning out into an entire day across the city.

You leave home expecting to be gone for an hour. Then there is a train across town, an unplanned meeting, a stop at the studio and, when the weather cooperates, an afternoon in the park. By the time you return, the things in your bag have become a record of everywhere the day took you.

It is a city that rewards travelling lightly, while still being prepared. We have been designing bags with this exact mindset for 25 years.

Our collaboration with Matchasome began with a simple thought: if matcha has become part of your everyday routine, why should that routine end when you leave home?

Two Berlin Brands, One Everyday Ritual

Matcha asks for more attention than most drinks. It is measured, whisked and prepared with intention rather than poured from a machine on the way out. That process is part of its appeal. For a few minutes, the rest of the day has to wait.

Matchasome has made this ritual feel at home in modern city life. At Ucon Acrobatics, we approach design with that same level of care. As an independent B Corp, we don’t believe in rushing or taking shortcuts. We approach the same daily rhythm from another direction, creating bags that seamlessly move between commutes, work, travel and everything that happens in between.

We are two Berlin-based brands working in different categories, but we share an interest in the objects and rituals that make everyday life better.

The result is the limited-edition Ucon Acrobatics x Matchasome collaboration, centred on a special version of our Gosho Light Bag.

“Working with Rei and the Matchasome team felt like a natural fit from day one. We share just all the same values: staying independent, building something with intention, and proudly calling Berlin home. We created this collaboration bag because we loved the idea of giving people a simple way to carry everything they need for their daily matcha ritual wherever the day takes them.” Jochen Smuda, Co-founder

A Silver Bag for Days That Change Direction

The Gosho Light Bag Matchasome comes in Silver Metallic, giving its compact silhouette a new character created for this collaboration.

The finish feels at home in Berlin. It catches the pale light of an U-Bahn platform, stands out on a bicycle ride across the city and changes again in the late afternoon sun by the canal.

Heavily influenced by functional minimalism, we stripped away the noise to leave only what is necessary. Lightweight and compact, the bag is made for the smaller essentials that follow you through the day. It gives you enough room for what you need without requiring a full backpack.

Take it with you for:

  • Matcha breaks between meetings

  • Days split between the studio, café and park

  • Spontaneous train journeys and weekends away

  • Plans that change halfway through the day

Taking the Matcha Ritual Beyond Home

The complete Ucon Acrobatics x Matchasome Matcha Bundle brings the collaboration together in one travel-ready set.

It was created for people who have already made matcha part of their day, as well as those looking for a more considered pause in a busy routine. Instead of leaving that ritual in the kitchen, the bundle makes it easier to take with you across the city or further away.

Built as a highly limited run, only a few Matcha Bundles are now left.

The collaboration was created as a limited edition, bringing our two perspectives together for a particular moment rather than becoming part of a permanent collection. Once the remaining bundles are gone, this version of the collaboration will be gone too.

Made for a City That Rarely Follows the Plan

Berlin is often described through its noise, nightlife and constant reinvention. But the city is also built around quieter habits: the same cycling route in the morning, a familiar place by the canal or the drink prepared before opening a laptop. We created this collaboration for one of those small rituals.
